Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 200,000 Bronco and Bronco Sport SUVs from model years 2025 and 2026 due to an instrument panel that may fail at startup, according to federal auto safety regulators.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said the digital instrument cluster may not display when the ignition is turned on, leaving drivers without essential information including warning lights and vehicle speed. The agency said the issue increases the risk of a crash.

The recall covers 128,607 Bronco Sport vehicles built between March 7, 2024, and Nov. 3, 2025, and 101,002 Bronco SUVs manufactured between May 31, 2024, and Nov. 3, 2025.

Ford said it has not received reports of accidents or injuries tied to the failure. The company recorded its first warranty claim on May 15 and has since identified 12 potentially related claims. Ford’s internal data also showed that 68% of connected vehicles surveyed experienced ignition cycle events within the risk window.

Owners will receive notices beginning Dec. 8 and will be advised to visit a Ford or Lincoln dealership for a free software update. Some vehicles may instead receive an over-the-air fix. Customers can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. The recall number is 25SC3.
