A shipping label can look correct on screen yet print with a missing barcode, reduced text or oversized margins. Checking the printer settings prevents wasted labels.
Check the physical media
Confirm that your printer and installed roll support 4 × 6-inch labels (approximately 101.6 × 152.4 mm). Printer models and driver settings differ. Use the size specified by your hardware manufacturer.
Recommended print workflow
- Open the downloaded shipping label PDF.
- Select your thermal label printer in the print dialog.
- Choose the matching paper stock, such as 4 × 6 inches.
- For a correctly sized 4 × 6 PDF, print at actual size / 100% rather than fit-to-page if supported by your printer driver.
- Check orientation and disable unnecessary headers or footers.
- Print a single sample and verify the barcode is sharp and not cut off.
Barcode and margin checks
Inspect all four edges. Avoid shrinking labels until the smallest barcode lines become unclear. If the driver rotates or scales the page, confirm the configured label dimensions and orientation.
If you use an A4 printer
A 4 × 6 PDF is not an automatically arranged A4 label sheet. Your PDF reader or print driver may allow positioning on A4, but test the print and do not assume multiple labels will be laid out correctly.
Troubleshooting
The PDF prints too small
Look for fit-to-page or scaling options in the print dialog.
Part of the address disappears
Check preview margins and whether the original crop already cut the text. Do not ship a label with an incomplete address.
The barcode is blurred
Try the printer maker’s recommended speed and darkness settings and inspect the output before dispatch.
CropShip is a browser-based seller utility. The tested Flipkart E-Kart sample supports automatic cropping and 4 × 6-inch PDF output. PDF structures vary by marketplace and over time; other marketplace formats may not work. Always verify labels before dispatch.
Use a supported PDF format and always verify addresses and barcodes before dispatch.
