Royal Enfield’s next big motorcycle evolution is finally taking shape. The highly anticipated Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 has been spied testing once again, this time looking almost production-ready. Fresh images from Chennai show a heavily equipped test mule with final-fit body panels, crash protection, and even a saree guard – strong signs that the motorcycle is nearing its official launch.
With its muscular design, twin-cylinder engine, and premium hardware, the Himalayan 750 appears ready to take Royal Enfield’s adventure lineup to an entirely new level.
The Himalayan 750 – A Step Above the 450
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has already made its mark as a capable, mid-sized adventure tourer. However, the upcoming Himalayan 750 aims to cater to a different breed of riders — those who crave long-distance performance, highway comfort, and the unmistakable grunt of a big twin.
This motorcycle will be Royal Enfield’s most powerful ADV yet, sitting above the 450 in the brand’s lineup and targeting enthusiasts who want to tour across continents rather than just local trails.
Spotted in Near-Production Form
The latest test mule caught on camera in Chennai seems nearly ready for series production. Unlike earlier prototypes, this version features final body panels, complete lighting systems, and safety equipment. The presence of a crash guard and a saree guard confirms that Royal Enfield is preparing this bike for the Indian market as well.
A closer look reveals that the Himalayan 750 sports a new fairing area around the fuel tank, giving it a broader and more muscular stance than the Himalayan 450. The large windscreen, sturdy handguards, and high-mounted front fender underline its serious adventure intentions.
Design and Styling – Rugged Yet Sophisticated
At first glance, the Himalayan 750 exudes power and purpose. It follows the functional, rugged styling language of adventure motorcycles but with a touch of sophistication that hints at its premium positioning.
The round LED headlamp — now a signature feature across most Royal Enfield motorcycles — adds a classic appeal, while the new tank extensions and faired panels enhance aerodynamics and give it a commanding road presence.
The high-mounted exhaust is another design highlight. Positioned neatly along the right side, it reinforces the big-ADV look while offering better water-wading capability. Combined with a tall windscreen and sculpted fuel tank, the Himalayan 750 looks built for long-distance exploration.
Engine and Performance – India’s Most Powerful Twin
Underneath the familiar frame lies an all-new evolution of Royal Enfield’s beloved 650cc twin-cylinder engine. The new 750cc motor is expected to retain the air- and oil-cooled architecture but with extensive internal revisions to improve output and refinement.
Sources suggest that the new engine will deliver between 55hp and 60hp, marking a significant jump from the 48hp produced by the current 650cc platform. This would make it the most powerful motorcycle engine manufactured in India, further solidifying Royal Enfield’s engineering progress.
While the power increase will excite performance enthusiasts, the brand is also expected to fine-tune the torque delivery for smoother low-end pull — ideal for adventure riding and off-road trails.
Suspension and Braking Upgrades
The test mule clearly shows a rear monoshock with a remote gas reservoir mounted near the pillion footpeg bracket — a premium feature that improves suspension consistency under heavy load or prolonged riding.
Whether Royal Enfield will offer adjustable suspension beyond preload remains unclear, but such a setup would help riders fine-tune comfort for different terrains. At the front, inverted telescopic forks are expected, similar to the Himalayan 450 but likely with a longer travel range.
Braking duties will be handled by dual front discs and a single rear disc, paired with dual-channel ABS as standard. Expect larger rotors and better calipers than those seen on the 650 twins, offering improved stopping power for the heavier bike.
Modern Features and Digital Console
The Himalayan 750 will bring Royal Enfield’s feature list closer to global standards. Spotted on the test bike is the familiar circular TFT display — the same one seen on newer Royal Enfield models. It’s expected to support Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts, and music control via the Royal Enfield app.
Other expected features include:
- All-LED lighting system
- Ride modes for on-road and off-road settings
- Switchable traction control
- USB charging ports
- Assist and slipper clutch
- Optional heated grips and adjustable windscreen
Ergonomics and Comfort
The Himalayan 750 is designed for long-haul touring, and the ergonomics reflect that intent. The wide handlebar, upright seating position, and generous seat cushioning ensure comfort on both highways and trails.
A split seat setup provides more support for riders and passengers, and the bike’s tall stance offers better ground clearance for off-road adventures. Expect seat height to be slightly higher than the Himalayan 450, catering to its larger frame and suspension geometry.
Expected Price and Launch Timeline
While Royal Enfield has not made any official announcements yet, insiders suggest that the Himalayan 750 could make its first public appearance at EICMA 2025, scheduled for early November.
The expected price range in India is between ₹4.25 lakh and ₹4.75 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it just below the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and Honda NX500 — making it a strong value proposition for riders seeking a twin-cylinder adventure bike without breaking the bank.
Competition and Market Positioning
Once launched, the Himalayan 750 will compete against:
- Kawasaki Versys 650
- Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT
- Honda NX500
- Triumph Tiger Sport 660
- Benelli TRK 702
However, Royal Enfield’s key advantage will be its aggressive pricing, brand heritage, and massive service network, which no other manufacturer in this price range can match.
This combination of affordability and capability could help Royal Enfield dominate the mid-size adventure touring segment, not just in India but globally.
